It’s Not Just A War On The Women; It’s A War on the Family

Last week, Hilary Rosen, DNC PR attacker, decided to go after stay-at-home mother Ann Romney, because Mitt apparently uses her as a sounding board for what women care about on economic issues. This awoke the sleeping giant that has been the base and grassroots of conservatism to begin to coalesce around Romney, something he has not been able to do for almost a year of campaigning, so I thank Rosen for that accomplishment. However, it made me ponder that while this is a #WaronMoms, it has been a #WaronFamilies for more than 60 years, and the affects have fractured the civil society almost to its core. Look around us at the policies that the utopian statists have reached to everyone one of us whether we know it or not and it is time for us to fight back not just for moms, not just for dads, but also for the family unit. Conservatives need to start hitting back in simple terms, showing how the statists have destroyed what once was good and decent in this country and we need to do it now.

Look at the tax policies of this country. Whether from the federal level or the local level, the system is designed to make sure two family members have to work. To make it parochial, I will take New York where I live. We have some of the highest income taxes in nation, the county where I live (Nassau) has one of the highest property and school taxes in the nation, and then we have to pay for cell phones, gas, and other normal bills. There is no way a family of four with a house can make it on one person’s income from a regular job! The statists want it this way so that they can divide and conquer the family unit. With two parents working, how much time, unless you are political junkies like us, do they spend watching and reading the news? Very little. They most likely turn on the local news at 5, 6, or 10pm and digest the same liberal garbage that has them pulling the levers for the idiots making them work so hard to pay off that property tax bill.  Republicans running for office need not be afraid of promoting the fact that tax cuts for all will allow families to have one-person stay at home to watch the kids, nurture them, worry less about money, etc. Taxes are about FAMILY VALUES! People will understand that more than we might think. If you tell them, “If I cut the taxes and fees you pay, you can spend more time with your kids,” THAT is a winning argument!

While the policies of the Left distract families from being able to focus on the Left’s dastardly deeds, it also tears away at the fabric of the family unit. When two people work and come home exhausted at 6:00pm how much time do they actually get to spend with their kids? Not much, that’s for sure! That weighs on children, and you can see it in their faces, no matter the age. It is the saddest, most helpless feeling as a parent, and statists know they are doing this to millions of families and do not care. They want that child to turn to the Left for love, for education, for everything. Look at the whiny kids of Occupy Wall Street. Those kids come from good families, parents who worked their tails off, and left their children to their own devices for the most part. Now they work for the Left, trying to take from other families who are trying to make ends meet, trying to raise good citizens, so these lazy, pathetic trolls can fulfill themselves and the indoctrination to which they are enslaved. If we want to save future generations, we need to fight back now or this will constantly be a source of tension.

The #WaronFamilies has hit marriages the hardest. One of the greatest sources of tension in a marriage is centered around finances.  The statists have created a perfect storm with their fiscal policies helping us along to the fifty percent of all marriages ending in divorce. Whether it is one spouse making more money than the other, or bills racking up on the kitchen table, people are struggling to make ends meet, and sometimes they end up not taking it out on the source of the problem, run away government spending, but on each other. Statists are happy to see these breakdowns, because it creates more victims they have to end up “saving” whether it is the single mom who needs health insurance now, or the kid who needs three meals a day at school because the single parent is working two or three jobs.

Family life is not supposed to be this contentious, but the Left wants division – they want “wars” on groups because it keeps the Left in power. It’s right for conservatives to advocate for a simpler life. That’s what our whole agenda is about – returning things not just to the states, but also to the family unit itself. People are tired of running around half of the year just working to pay off the taxes they owe. They are tired of not being able to be there for their kids when they come home from school and greet them with a warm hug and kiss. They are tired trying to catch up with their kids’ lives whether at school or with their friends, and then just leaving them to their own devices where they can be corrupted by the Left. It is time to advocate for one-income households. It is not evil, it is not anti-woman- it is PRO-FAMILY!

Good article! It really shows how the Marxists are killing family values, and replacing them with their own twisted “morals”.
