Get Your Ass Back On The Line!

April 11, 2012

War is hell. It is violent, filthy, terrifying, and deadly. We have declared war on the narrative of the Left – a war against lies, misrepresentations, and no representation at all. Thanks to the saturation of cultural Marxism, schools and media have more ammo than us. Sometimes, we win small skirmishes. For example, NBC had to walk back their misleading Zimmerman 911 call edit.  We’re on the side of truth, and the truth needs no edits.

How some deliver the truth may differ. This doesn’t mean that we should stop fighting the war against lies, and it certainly doesn’t mean we should fight each other because we don’t like each other’s truth deployment. The Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines all have friendly rivalries, and they also refrain from firing upon each other when confronting the enemy. Maybe we should keep that in mind as we wage our battles in media, social and otherwise.
Lest you turn away thinking this is not going to be a wacky, Misfitty post, I will explain how we can work together using the crew of Serenity as examples of how we’re all on the same ship, even if we bicker like Mal/Inara, Jayne/Wash, Shepherd/River. We don’t have to like each other, but we can recognize and respect the different fighting styles.
You know you fight like Mal when . . . “You run when you ought to fight, fight when you ought to deal.” You have a clear enemy in mind, but not a clear plan, so what you plan and what goes down “ain’t exactly similar.” Your heart is in the right place, and your crew will follow you to their demise, but you’re pretty much making it up as you go along. Sun Tzu you ain’t. But your aim? Impeccable.
You know you fight like Zoey when . . . someone with heart tells you to whip out a shotgun and you blam them right in the ten spot without hesitation. You are loyal, fearless, and look amazing in leather pants.
You know you fight like Wash when . . . well, you don’t actually fight. But you’re good at getting everyone to their destination alive, no matter what state your ship is in. And you know when to bail. You also keep egos in check with your snark.
You know you fight like Jayne when . . . everyone is slightly afraid that you’ll kill them in their sleep. There’s never a moment when you aren’t ready to kick the enemy’s arse, though, no matter how little you think of your fellow crew persons. “If you can’t do somethin’ smart, [you] do somethin’ right.” You don’t care if people like you; your job is to take out the opposition.
You know you fight like Inara when . . . you out-think your enemy and charm them into doing nearly anything you ask.  You are the diplomat who can call someone a monkey’s anus and have them thank you for the privilege. You could easily be a frequent denizen of the Red Eye leg chair. You also know the enemy’s ways and can walk in their circles.
You know you fight like Book when . . . everyone respects your wise counsel and is shocked that you are capable of shooting the enemy out of the sky. You’re the moral compass of the movement; you remind mercenary types that they always have to do the right thing, lest they end up in the circle of hell with the child molesters and people who talk in the theatre.
You know you fight like Kaylee when . . . you’re normally keeping the ship running smoothly with what little you’ve got. You’re a lover, not a fighter, but you keep the home of the fighters alive. When it comes right down to it, if there’s a gun in your hand and love in your heart, you’ll take aim and say “The hell with this. I wanna live!”
You know you fight like Simon when . . . you don’t really fight, and you don’t think much of people who fight for a living, but you do patch up hurts and come up with ingenious strategy some of the time. When needed, you’ll perform your duty: no more, no less.
You know you fight like River when . . . most people don’t think you’re much of a threat. Your own side may call you crazy, inconsequential, or be afraid you’ll go biggledy on them any minute. You’ve been known to take a knife to your own people, and folk maybe even call you a witch. The government messed with your head, and their pride prevented them from realizing what they were creating. When you’re focused, however, no power in the ‘Verse can stop you. Just point you at the enemy and everyone else stand back.
The crew of Serenity didn’t necessarily like each other all the time, but they had one foe in common: an intrusive government that wanted a perfect world where everybody thought good thoughts . . . worlds without sin.
Conservatives fight amongst ourselves because we ARE individuals. The only thing we agree on is that people should choose to live as they please, and that the Constitution is to protect us from a busybody government. Let’s not nanny each other. Let’s point our weapons outwards and get all our asses back on the line.

    Love it.

Take my love, take my land
Take me where I cannot stand
    I don’t care, I’m still free
You can’t take the sky from me.

    Browncoats unite!

Do you know what the chain of command is? The chain of command is the chain I beat you with until you realize I’m in command.

    Maybe I’m a Jayne type?

    WAR!

Awesome KJ. We have one shot at getting this right, 2016 will be too late. To borrow a phrase that seems to fit our situation from another sci-fi franchise. “Maybe today is a good day to die.”

Taking out a section of audio isn’t telling the truth! Biased as can be.

Yeah but doesn’t Serenity get a ” fights like Serenity” part? She’s a damned good ship. So did not like how the movie ended…..sigh….
