Chris Christie’s War on the NYPD

March 19, 2012

The NYPD has been under savage attack lately for doing its job of protecting the citizens of New York City. No, it’s not from the former Black Panther Councilman Charles Barron, who only loves blue worn by Crips. No, it’s not from Reverend Al “Slim Shady” Sharpton, standing outside One Police Plaza with his bullhorn chanting “No justice, no peace.” No, it’s from another loud mouth. None other than the governor of New Jersey, Chris Christie. Governor Christie has his panties in a wad because since the devastating attacks on 9/11 the NYPD has been monitoring Muslim websites and tracking down leads on potential Islamic radicals even into other states trying to keep eight million people safe.

With the exposure of this program, Governor Christie has once again, in my opinion, made New York City less secure, and he could have prevented that if he could just keep his trap shut! A few weeks ago, Governor Christie took to the microphones and wailedabout how Ray Kelly and the NYPD think they are guardians of the world, that what the NYPD was doing was illegal, and that Ray Kelly was not only putting New Jersey police officers in danger but the NYPD as well. That is a load of bull crap. The fact is that the governor knew all along that the NYPD was operating in New Jersey. How could anyone in New Jersey not know this was going on? Before he left for Chi-town and Rahm Emmanuel, Newark Police Commissioner Garry McCarthy was a member of the NYPD brass when this program started!

Furthermore, the NYPD does have a duty to protect New York City, because New York has been attacked twice and both attacks originated in New Jersey! Governor, did you forget that the first World Trade Center attack was planned by a radical imam in your state, the Santa Claus-hat-wearing blind Sheik Omar Abdel Rahman, or that some of the 9/11 hijackers boarded planes out of Newark, New Jersey right under your nose and the noses of the Newark FBI? Do you also remember that one of your predecessors, Governor McGreevy, decided after the attacks to appoint his boy toy, Golan Cipel, as FREAKING HOMELAND SECURITY DIRECTOR IN NEW JERSEY? Excuse us for not trusting you.

This is not the first time Governor Christie has been soft on terror. The governor appointed a judge who defended the pieces of garbage in GITMO. He chastised those of us in the tri-state area for being “biased” and all the other name-calling that usually comes out of the mouth of a leftist. The real issue at stake is that instead of handling this directly with Ray Kelly or Mayor Bloomberg, Governor Christie went before the press and loudly complained about it. The man has never met a camera or a microphone that he didn’t love, and regardless of the consequences for the citizens on one side of the Hudson or the other, he is going to act like the big macho man. The fact is the governor should be thanking the NYPD for providing this service. It is not costing the state of New Jersey a dime. In fact, if you probably took a poll of New Jersey residents, I’d bet they would be applauding the NYPD for saving their asses. None of this matters to Christie. All he cares about is his YouTube videos that make some conservatives swoon as he acts all macho, yelling down hecklers, or bashing union folk over the head (not that we mind bashing unions). He does not care that he compromised a program that has thwarted fourteen potential attacks on New York City (and those are only the ones we know of). He does not care that any leads the NYPD had going on with potential terrorists are gone. No, he wanted to make a spectacle of this and he succeeded. If New York City is attacked again while he is still governor and the terrorists come from New Jersey, like they seem to so frequently, I want him held accountable. I want him to tell the families of those killed, that he’s sorry.

Governor, if an attack happens that could have been prevented by this surveillance program . . . you think you raise hell? You ain’t seen nothin’ yet. So go and flap your loud mouth- but your war on the NYPD may cost your citizens their lives.

He’s done a lot of good New Jersey and done a fair amount of things I liked but he strikes me as a Jersey version of John McCain who just lives to stick a finger in the eye of tea-party conservatives. I do not want this party turning to him in 2016 if Mitt Romney doesn’t win the presidency this time.

AP over at Hotair has been warning people since Christie came into the mainstream of his RINO ways. I love his fight for fiscal responsibility and how he calls out the unions to get them to be held accountable for the fiscal nightmare he has to deal with. But he is a RINO and this stuff will happen… I like a lot of what Christie does but none the less I will only trust him as much as I trust all politicians and that is as far as I can throw them.

but even there, fiscally, he supports subsidizing wind farming in NJ, he is not as hard on the unions as u might think, and he and Gov. Cuomo just raised rates on tolls over 50%. And when the discussion for those toll hikes were going on he acted like he had no clue, even though his guy, NY & NJ appoint members to the Port Authority and leadership varies, is the head of the PA. They also held town hall discussions on those hikes in like the boondocks of NYC and NJ so that no one could comment. So his fiscal record in my opinion is also RINO like.

And now Christie and Peter King are in a war of words: http://www.longislandpress.com/2012/03/22/king-blasts-christie-on-counterterror/ Again Christie values ego over substance.
